What Type Server Is My Website Hosted On?

In order to use the Knowledgebase you will need to know what type of Server you are Hosted On. The easiest way to Determine this is based on the  way you access the  Control Panel.   We have the Following Server Platforms: cPanel, Plesk, and Mach Servers. If you are not Sure you can Verify the Server Type using the Methods Below.

#1. cPanel: In Your Browser Address Bar type: http://YourDomain.com:2082  EXAMPLE: If your Domain was www.xyz.com then In your Browser Address Bar Type: http://xyz.com:2082 and then Hit Enter on your Keyboard.

- If You Get prompted to Log In (eg; a login box asking for username and password)  Then your Email is Hosted on a CPanel Server. IF You Get an Error Page then Try Other Methods Below.

#2. Mach: In Your Browser Address Bar type: http://YourDomain.com/control    EXAMPLE: If your Domain was www.xyz.com then In your Browser Address Bar Type: http://xyz.com/control and then Hit Enter on your Keyboard.

- If You Get a Page That Says  "Hosting Control Panel" at the Top and a Box to Login in the Center of the Page, then you are hosted on a Mach Server.

#3. Plesk: In Your Browser Address Bar type: https://YourDomain.com:8443    EXAMPLE: If your Domain was www.xyz.com then In your Browser Address Bar Type: https://xyz.com:8443 and then Hit Enter on your Keyboard. NOTE: You will need to accept the Self Signed Server Secure Server Certificate. This is normal and does not imply the page is not secure. This happens because the Browser does not recognize the Self Signed Certificate required by Plesk.

- If You Get a Page That Says  "Paralells Plesk" at the Top and a Box to Login in the Center of the Page, then you are hosted on a  Plesk Server.

What If None of The Above Works ?   There are a very few number of previous 4Domains/Bluehill.com Customers that are hosted on Windows 2003 Servers.   These Servers do Not have a Hosting Control Panel.   YOU DO HAVE AN EMAIL CONTROL PANEL.
